Mahinepua Peninsula Track
The track leaves from the eastern end of Mahinepua Beach (end of Mahinepua Road, off Wainui Road on the coast north of Matauri Bay) and is signposted through a farm track to the reserve.

Kerikeri Beaches
Opito Bay
This is one of the nearest beaches to Kerikeri and is a small coastal community on the edge of the Bay Of Islands. It is a sheltered anchorage for all types of boats and has a launching ramp that is open to the public.
Hongi Hika Walk
The Kororipo-Kerikeri Basin is internationally of cultural and historical significance. The wider Kerikeri area offers a variety of great walking tracks and other recreation opportunities.
Akeake Reserve Track
The track begins at Opito Bay, 13 km from Kerikeri. A sign near the boat ramp marks the access way, which leads between houses and enters the Akeake Historic Reserve.

Rainbow Falls Walk
You can stroll along the river bank to the spectacular Rainbow Falls, where the water tumbles into a pool surrounded by native bush. You may hear tui call, and see fantails flitting about while you walk. The path leads to viewing platforms.

The Māori name for Rainbow Falls on the Kerikeri River is Waianiwaniwa which means Waters of the Rainbow.
